Children’s Hospice

Very Special Kids House in Malvern is a children’s hospice providing 24-hour paediatric palliative care. It is a home away from home for the seriously ill children and young people in our care.

Our children’s hospice offers respite, surrounded by the very best care from our doctors, nurses, carers and trained volunteers.

And if the time comes, we provide end-of-life care to make a child’s last days as special and comfortable as can be.

During a respite stay, our team provide tailored care unique to a child’s needs and work to a routine they are comfortable with. This offers families the chance to relax knowing their child is in safe hands.

Putting children’s needs at the heart of everything we do, we’ve built a new, warm and welcoming state-of-the-art hospice in 2023. Featuring bright lounge areas, a soft-play area, music therapy room, multi-sensory room and hydrotherapy pool, it provides children an enjoyable and safe stay while receiving the best clinical care.

It also offers a semi-private space for adolescents to better respect their maturity and desire for independence. For those wanting a little outdoor activity, we have an accessible undercover play area and accessible outdoor landscaped playground.
