Autumn Classic raises over $230,000

On Friday 21 May, Melbourne’s cycling community came together for the return of the Autumn Classic.

The competition was fierce and the fundraising result extraordinary with over $230,000 raised for the children and families in our care.

Fourteen teams took on six tough virtual courses, all vying to take home the perpetual cup and bragging rights!

Congratulations to Grupetto who took out the win with riders Tom Curtain, Jamus Campbell, Ryan Bell, Ben Griffiths, Belinda Trembath and Chris Mallalue. Second and third place went to Toros A and Lowe Finance, with all teams putting in a sensational effort.

Congratulations to the highest fundraising single team, Bayside Spiders who have raised almost $33,000 and further kudos to the highest fundraising individual, Ben James from the Spiders, for raising almost $12,000, an amazing achievement.

Recognition awards were also presented to Rob Ralph and Carl Snowsill for their ongoing support in helping the Autumn Classic grow, thank you both!

The new Team Spirit award has been given to Team Toros this year for bringing so much energy to the event and getting behind what the Autumn Classic is all about – thank you!

Thank you to our wonderful event supporters – The Cycling Fix, Harry the Hirer, Novofit, Ridewiser, Domain and our fabulous MC Matt Tilley. Thank you also to the generous donors of auction items and in-kind support, and of course our team of marvellous volunteers.
