Corporate Handball Challenge is on again

The Corporate Handball Challenge not only raises important funds for the Very Special Kids' Piggy Bank Appeal but is also a great staff team building activity, which allows for participation by a variety of staff who may not usually become involved in fundraising activities.
The Corporate Handball Challenge was originally instigated by one of our corporate partners, AXA Asia Pacific in 2004 and has become a leading fundraising tool for them, raising over $8,000 in 2009 and engaging over 300 employees. Since then the Corporate Handball Challenge has gone from strength to strength with the winning team from each company competing for the Corporate Handball Challenge perpetual trophy.
Very Special Kids will host the Corporate Handball Challenge Grand Final on Friday 30 September (day before the AFL Grand Final) and it promises to be a great day for your leading team to go head to head with other company teams.

How it works
Upon registering you will receive a Corporate Handball Challenge kit, including:
- Promotional poster & flyer.
- Competition structure.
- Rules and instructions on the game.
- Handball equipment pack consisting of: 1 x pop up target and 1 x set of 5 soft footballs which is yours for the duration of the activity (additional handball equipment packs will be issued out to companies who have large work forces or multiple offices).
Teams and charges

Employees are invited to form teams of five people (male, female or mixed). The teams can be: department against department, office
against office or regional against metro.
- The entry fee is $25 per team ($5 per person).
- Teams must register and pay in advance to participate in the competition.
- Teams may pay an additional $10 to borrow the handball equipment pack over lunchtime for pre-competition practice.
- All money raised from the entry fee, equipment hire costs and other staff fundraising will go directly towards the company's fundraising total for the Piggy Bank Appeal.
Participation cost
There is no direct cost for companies to participate in the Corporate Handball Challenge, however as we only have a limited number of handball equipment packs, we ask that the company pledge to fundraise a minimum of $1,000 which can be made up from the following:
- Team entry fees & equipment hire fees (for team practice).
- Selling of Piggy Bank Appeal merchandise.
- Gold coin donations for casual/jeans Fridays (to coincide with activity).
- Morning Teas, small raffles, etc.
- Corporate & staff donations.
