Children are admitted for planned or emergency respite and are cared for by a dedicated team of
- Registered Nurses & carers around the clock
- Medical staff, Music Therapist and trained volunteers
- The Hospice Team are supported by the Family Support Team who visit families at home or in the community as well as offering support when the children are staying at Very Special Kids House.
Parents are able to access planned respite, emergency respite and end of life care at Very Special Kids House free-of-charge.
School Holiday Programs

A comprehensive formal holiday program is available at the House.
Condition-Specific Weekends
Very Special Kids has provided condition-specific weekends for two age groups of boys with Muscular Dystrophy since 2006.
Music Therapy

The music therapy program at Very Special Kids House aims to address the needs of children living with a life-threatening illness and provide support for them and for their family members.
End of Life
Very Special Kids House can offer an alternative to hospital or home for your family when end-of-life care is required.
