Drink Coca-Cola and help special kids
|
If you buy a 24 pack of Coca-Cola at Coles or Bi-Lo during June, you’ll also be helping a very worthy cause.
Very Special Kids is a unique Victorian organisation that improves the quality of life for families of children with life-threatening illnesses. Such illnesses include muscular dystrophy, genetic conditions, rare syndromes and cancer. Sadly, many of these children will not reach adulthood.
Following a very successful result in 2004, where Coca-Cola Amatil donated $15,000 to Very Special Kids, from sales of 30 packs in Victorian Coles stores, Victorian Bi-Lo stores will now join the campaign to increase this figure.
Very Special Kids CEO David Agnew said: “We’re thrilled to have the support of Coca-Cola Amatil, Coles and Bi-Lo. Stocking up on Coca-Cola during June will be even more appealing, knowing that buying it will help a very special group of Victorian kids.”
“Promotions like these help us to continue our support of over 750 Victorian families who have a child with a life-threatening illness. We really need the people of Victoria to get behind this great promotion to reach the $25,000 target.”
Coles has a long running relationship with Very Special Kids, which has been the preferred Coles charity in Victoria for about ten years.
Coles spokesperson Russell Chambers said, “Our store teams always enthusiastically embrace opportunities to raise funds for this wonderful organisation as they know the money is supporting a very worthy cause. Our Bi-Lo teams are very excited to be joining their Coles colleagues in their fund raising ventures this year.
Coles and Bi-Lo stores will be stocking up on the Coca-Cola packs for the four week promotion so Victorians are encouraged to look out for the pyramids in each store and buy their 24 packs during May 30 and June 26 to help Very Special Kids.
